She became the first woman to receive the Michelin Young Chef award. Trained in gastronomy at Johnson & Wales University in the US, she gained experience in Michelin-starred kitchens in Boston, Chicago and New York. Her restaurant is housed in a roughly 150-year-old olive-oil press in Datça's Yaka village, built around seasonal local produce like capers, chamomile and figs.
