Founder and chair of the Department of Medical History and Ethics at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine. A graduate of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, she previously founded a similar department at Başkent University and directed Gazi University's Women's Studies Research Centre.
